Penki Kontinentai Supports Social Initiatives during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Penki Kontinentai expresses gratitude to all socially responsible citizens, volunteers, and business representatives, who help physicians, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Group of companies, in turn, allocated 50 thousand euros to support public organizations in Lithuania.
“Today, as never before, it is important to show unity and support each other. I want to thank all those who came up with an initiative to fight against the pandemic and began to create support funds to help our country, especially the medical community, overcome this crisis. Penki Kontinentai is not going to stand aside. We understand the complexity of this period and offer both material and non-material support,” says Idrakas Dadašovas, Chairperson of the Penki Kontinentai Board.
The Group of companies allocated almost 25 thousand euros to various Lithuanian funds for the purchase of medical equipment:
- The COVID-19 Mitigation Fund, supervised by President Dalia Grybauskaite;
- Medical Institutions Support Fund, founded by President Valdas Adamkus, businesspersons and public figures;
- The Fund of Andrius Tapinas;
- The Lithuanian Medical Association Fund;
- Vilnius Сity Government to fight the pandemic.
Given the tense situation of medical and educational institutions, sports organizations, museums, and art galleries due to their activities’ temporary suspension, the Penki Kontinentai Group releases them from financial obligations to pay for payment services for the quarantine period. There are more than 120 such organizations among the Group’s clients.
Due to the threat of coronavirus spread, older adults are advised to stay at home. Such restrictions are unusual for them. About 5 percent of Penki’s customers are over 65 years old. For them, network bandwidth, which affects the Internet’s speed, has been increased for free. During the quarantine period, the Group provides customers over 65 years of age with one-hundred-percent compensation for telecommunication services (Penki Internet and TV).
“The most important thing now is not to focus on temporary problems but to believe that together we will overcome any difficulties. It is important to support legal entities and individuals purposefully to help those who primarily need it; therefore, we support our customers and business partners. We urge other like-minded people to support this initiative!” adds Idrakas Dadašovas.
