BS/2 together with partners presented smart retail solutions at Retail Business Brunch 2025 in Baku

On October 23, 2025, representatives of the retail industry from the Caucasus and Central Asia gathered at the Retail Business Brunch forum organized by BS/2 in Baku. This event has already been held for the third time and has become an important platform for sharing experiences and discussing retail development trends in the region.
This year, the meeting brought together representatives of more than 30 companies from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland. All participants gathered with one goal — to discuss how technology is changing the rules of modern retail.

Presentations by partners and international experts

The program of the event was based on presentations from global equipment manufacturers, software developers, and invited retail experts. Partners shared their experience in implementing innovations and demonstrated how modern technologies help retail companies increase efficiency and improve customer experience.

The speakers included Agnieszka Świątły (Diebold Nixdorf), Artem Antamonov (Bizerba), Mehmet Erkal and Murat Yemişli (Zebra Technologies), Dmitry Kuzovlev (SOTI), and Alexander Bespaly (SUNMI).

Practical cases were presented by Narmin Rustamova-Amirjanova (Veyseloglu Group of Companies) and Nikolay Chumak (IDNT). They shared their experience and expert observations on retail development trends, showing how the combination of modern technologies and a customer-centric approach forms a sustainable ecosystem where the customer experience is harmoniously connected with the technological foundation of the business.

Speakers from the Penki kontinentai Group also took part in the event — the chairman of the group, Idrakas Dadašovas, and the director of BS/2 Azerbaijan, Ilgar Hasanov, welcomed the participants, after which BS/2 Head of Retail Equipment Sales, Emil Musaev, and ASHBURN International Head of Sales Division (руководитель отдела продаж), Sigitas Šniukas, shared their insights.

Emil Musaev, Head of Retail Equipment Sales at BS/2, noted that the meeting was productive:

“The event was productive. This is already the third forum we are holding in Baku. Our clients and partners gathered together, and we had a chance to discuss the current issues of modern retail and propose new ways to solve them. It was especially nice to see the genuine interest of the participants in the presented solutions — many were eager to know when all this could be applied in practice.”

Digital transformation as a new retail standard

During the presentations, experts emphasized that retail is entering a new stage where flexibility, automation, and data-driven decision-making are becoming key factors of competitiveness. Modern retail chains are actively moving towards digital and paperless processes, which increases transparency, efficiency, and business sustainability.

Special attention was given to data analytics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, which help optimize product assortments, reduce losses, and make decisions based on accurate metrics.

In addition, issues of data privacy and cybersecurity were discussed as an essential part of responsible innovation. According to the speakers, the most successful retail ecosystems today are those that unite stores, processes, and customer data into a single digital platform, providing personalized service and accelerating management decisions.

Agnieszka Świątły, representative of Diebold Nixdorf, highlighted the practical orientation of the event:

“It is always a pleasure to work with BS/2 and be part of such events. Here we are not just showing technologies, but discussing how self-service and smart retail solutions help develop modern retail, improve customer experience, and support businesses in challenging times. It is important that the presented solutions complement each other and demonstrate how the joint efforts of partners are shaping the future of modern retail.”

Technology in action

The event was not limited to presentations and reports — participants had the opportunity to experience the technologies in action in the demo zone set up directly in the conference hall. Guests personally tested modern retail solutions such as self-service systems, smart scales, scanners, and innovative cash-handling devices.

At the invitation of BS/2, representatives of leading retail companies from Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, including Aversi, Smart Pharma, Rahmat Market, Asia Tech, and others, took part in the event. As part of the knowledge exchange, they joined a demonstration tour of partner stores in Baku. Participants visited retail chains Araz, Bravo, and Rahat, as well as the SUNMI Home showroom, to see how BS/2 partner solutions are applied in practice and contribute to the development of modern retail.

BS/2 expresses its gratitude to all partners and participants of the forum for their contribution to the development of the professional community and the promotion of innovation in retail. The event became an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current trends, and outline new directions for cooperation.
