Cash Expert Seminar 2025 in Tashkent: Advancing Innovation in Cash Management
On September 18, the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, hosted the Cash Expert Seminar 2025—a landmark gathering for Central Asia’s financial sector focused on next-generation cash-handling solutions. The seminar was organized by BS/2, an international company that has spent more than thirty years developing and implementing cutting-edge technologies for the global banking and financial industries.
The event brought together representatives of banks and cash-operations experts from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Lithuania. Its main objective was to highlight BS/2’s advanced tools for efficient cash circulation and to demonstrate their practical application.
Kirill Ovsyannikov, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development, underscored the growing importance of such professional forums:
“BS/2 has made events like the Cash Expert Seminar a tradition. We see strong demand from Uzbek banks for greater efficiency in handling physical currency. Despite the rapid expansion of digital services, the volume of cash in circulation continues to climb. Managing this process effectively requires automation and the deployment of modern, multifunctional equipment. The participation of more than twenty banks proves that financial professionals recognize the need to adopt advanced technologies to elevate customer service.”
BS/2 Innovations: From Multi-Currency Self-Service to Cash Center Modernization
The seminar drew delegates from over 20 banks, including representatives of the Central Bank and the Association of Banks of Uzbekistan. Participants explored emerging trends in currency-processing practices, reviewed real-world implementations, and discussed strategies to streamline cash logistics while cutting costs and mitigating risks.
Key discussion points included the newest methods for detecting counterfeit and worn notes, the use of artificial intelligence for forecasting currency demand, best practices for secure transportation and storage of cash, and the role of automation in cash centers, alongside international examples of system upgrades.
Special attention was given to the growth potential of multi-currency ATM networks. In his presentation, Kirill Ovsyannikov stressed that automation and innovative technologies define the future of cash circulation in the region. He introduced next-generation devices built on the FCX.iQ platform, which effectively function as currency-exchange points. Integrating the Payments.iQ NG system enables ATMs to handle a wide range of services—from accepting diverse payments and card-free deposits to processing loan repayments. Attendees were also introduced to the new two-module self-service terminals DN Series 500 and DS Series 550 from Diebold Nixdorf.
Continuing on this topic, Ovsyannikov, together with Roman Tsvetov, Senior Portfolio Manager at Kapitalbank, presented a case study titled “Migration of Cash Operations to Self-Service Devices.” Their experience showed that shifting part of the workload to a modern ATM network with Payments.iQ NG and implementing the Cash Management.iQ system helped relieve branch traffic, broaden service offerings, and increase cash-handling efficiency.
Cash Management.iQ: Real-Time Oversight
During the seminar, BS/2 Product Manager Kirill Degtyarenko introduced the Cash Management.iQ platform. This solution enables banks to monitor cash balances in real time, forecast demand by currency and denomination, and create optimized collection schedules and routes. It aggregates data from ATMs, branches, and vaults to reduce operating expenses and provide greater transparency. Detailed reports help management make informed decisions.
The system’s functionality expands with the Vault.iQ and Cash Processing.iQ modules. Vault.iQ streamlines vault operations, while Cash Processing.iQ automates note counting and records key transaction parameters, ensuring complete control of cash movement and security. Thanks to integration with leading global equipment manufacturers, Cash Processing.iQ can be easily adapted to a bank’s existing infrastructure and supports devices from Magner, Kisan, G+D, Glory, CPS, and Julong.
Live Demonstrations and Real-World Applications
The seminar featured live demonstrations of advanced note-sorting and counting technologies, including Julong JL305 and Magner 2000F devices, which have proven their reliability in Uzbekistan’s banking and hospitality sectors.
A practical example came from the Oscar Boutique Hotel in Tashkent, where the Magner 2000F speeds up banknote counting, reduces errors, and allows staff to devote more time to guest service. This case clearly illustrates that modern solutions can optimize cash operations not only in banks but also across other industries.
Additionally, partners such as Sargent & Greenleaf showcased the latest security innovations. Their electronic locks with single-use codes and three-factor authentication help banks reduce operational risks and meet international safety standards.
These demonstrations gave participants the opportunity to experience the benefits of these technologies firsthand and envision their integration into day-to-day banking operations.
Cash Expert Seminar 2025 as a Platform for Future Growth
Cash Expert Seminar 2025 became a stage for presenting the latest technologies and practical approaches to cash management.
All attendees received personalized certificates confirming their participation. BS/2 representatives emphasized that feedback collected during the event will serve as an important foundation for further product development and allow the company to address partner needs with even greater precision. BS/2 will continue creating efficient, secure, and modern solutions that help banks and financial institutions accelerate cash-handling processes and enhance customer service quality.
