Banking Fusion Uzbekistan 2026 Brings Together Banking Leaders to Shape the Future of Financial Services

On June 3, 2026, BS/2 hosted Banking Fusion Uzbekistan 2026 in Tashkent, bringing together nearly 160 participants from 56 organizations, including senior executives from 35 commercial banks across the region.

The event was supported by leading global providers of banking equipment, software solutions, and financial technologies, including Diebold Nixdorf, Cashway, SUNMI, Sargent & Greenleaf, Teltonika Networks, JULONG, Magner International, Oberthur Fiduciaire, and Candour Identity, as well as industry associations such as the Central Asian Fintech Association (CAFA) and the Fintech Association of Uzbekistan.

Attendees represented Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Finland, China, and France. The broad participation of financial institutions, payment providers, and fintech companies transformed the forum into a key platform for discussing the future of banking across Central Asia and beyond.

Digital Transformation, Data, and the Future of Banking

The forum focused on the trends reshaping modern banking: digital transformation, data management, self-service infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

The conference opened with a keynote by Yulia Kim, Executive Director of Freedom Bank, who shared insights into the bank’s journey from a traditional financial institution to a digital-first organization capable of adapting to rapidly evolving customer expectations and new consumption models for financial services.

Banking expert Ulugbek Tavakkalov followed with an overview of Uzbekistan’s financial sector, highlighting the digitalization of banking services, the development of payment infrastructure, and the growing role of data in strategic decision-making.

Representatives of major market players also shared real-world digital transformation initiatives. Roman Tsvetov, Senior Portfolio Manager at Kapitalbank, presented the bank’s SMART ATM network strategy and discussed new approaches to customer service delivery through self-service channels. Islambek Diyarov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Specialist of the Card Issuance Group at HUMO, shared the organization’s experience in developing payment infrastructure and supporting the growth of digital financial services in Uzbekistan.

BS/2 experts further expanded the discussion. Nikoloz Kukudzanov, Head of Sales and Technical Support Group at BS/2 Georgia, presented Georgia’s experience with the “Acquiring-as-a-Service” model. Abbas Abbasov, Deputy Director of BS/2 Azerbaijan, showcased a newly launched banking technology marketplace in Azerbaijan, while Nikolajs Zelnins, Deputy CEO for Commerce at BS/2, shared best practices in infrastructure monitoring and decision-support systems.

FusionAI.iQ and BS/2’s New Generation of Intelligent Solutions

One of the forum’s highlights was the introduction of BS/2’s new portfolio of AI- and data-driven solutions powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science technologies.

Idrakas Dadašovas, Chairman of the Board of Penki Kontinentai Group, unveiled seven innovative solutions spanning process automation, knowledge management, security, customer experience, and operational efficiency. The new portfolio reflects BS/2’s strategic vision for building intelligent banking infrastructure.

At the center of the ecosystem is FusionAI.iQ, a platform designed to unify corporate knowledge, internal documents, business data, communications, and operational processes into a single intelligent environment.

The platform enables employees to quickly access critical information, leverage institutional knowledge more effectively, and accelerate decision-making across the organization.

  • AcademAI.iQ (Management & Analytics) — automated employee training and assessment based on internal documentation, also powered by FusionAI.iQ.
  • DotAI.iQ (Management & Analytics) — AI-driven communication analysis, including meeting transcription, summary generation, and task tracking.
  • Social Access.iQ (Customer Experience) — an inclusive self-service interface designed for visually impaired users.
  • Cash Counter.iQ (Cash Management) — automation of cassette counter data collection and reduction of cash accounting errors.

International Expertise and Industry Dialogue

Panel discussions delivered some of the forum’s most practical insights, bringing together industry leaders to discuss key challenges and share proven approaches.

The first panel focused on artificial intelligence and explored how banks can transform AI from a technology trend into a tangible source of business value. Akbota Abdraimova, Chief Data, AI & Digital Officer at the National Bank of Uzbekistan, provided a regulatory perspective on data governance. She was joined by Yulia Kim (Freedom Bank Kazakhstan), Andrey Petrov, Managing Director of Information Technology at KMF Microfinance Organization, Egor Pustovit, Associate Managing Consultant at Mastercard, and Sergey Kuksov, Head of DS Center System Implementation and Support at BS/2. The discussion was moderated by Andrey Volkov, Advisor to the CEO of BS/2.

The second panel, moderated by Otabek Nasirov, Chairman of the Central Asian Fintech Association (CAFA), focused on digital self-service and the evolving role of ATMs. Nikolajs Zelnins (BS/2), Denis Kokhaev, Head of ATM Network and Advisor at Ipoteka Bank OTP Group, and Umid Khojibekov, Head of Retail Banking Department at Ipak Yuli Bank, discussed how self-service devices are becoming digital customer engagement hubs that bridge online services and physical banking infrastructure.

Digital assets and the future of payments became the focus of another discussion. Asatilla Nurmatullayev, Director of the Processing Department at Octobank, Azamat Ziyomukhamedov (Octobank), and Zhoržas Šarafanovičius, Executive Director of ASHBURN International, discussed regulatory developments, banks’ readiness to adopt new financial instruments, and emerging security challenges. The session was moderated by Aleksandr Grebenko, Business Analyst at BS/2.

The final panel, moderated by Aleksey Yelfimov, Deputy CEO for Project Management at BS/2 Uzbekistan, explored security, connectivity, and trust. Experts from Sargent & Greenleaf, Teltonika Networks, Oberthur Fiduciaire, Candour Identity, and BS/2 Azerbaijan discussed a broader approach to protecting banking infrastructure, covering physical resilience, biometric verification, and secure communication channels alongside cybersecurity.

Technology Showcase and Networking

The forum also featured a dedicated exhibition area where participants explored BS/2 solutions and partner technologies, discussed implementation scenarios, and engaged directly with product managers and technical experts.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing 17 banks for their contributions to digital transformation, innovation, and modernization of banking services. Another milestone of Banking Fusion Uzbekistan 2026 was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between BS/2 and the Central Asian Fintech Association (CAFA), strengthening collaboration in the development of fintech and digital banking across the region.
