BS/2 Congratulates SMK on 30th Anniversary: Supporting Youth for a Successful Future

On November 15, the Lithuanian College of Applied Sciences (SMK) celebrated its 30th anniversary. BS/2 took part in the event. Auksė Glavinskienė, Chief Operating Officer of the company, congratulated SMK co-founder Gabija Skučaitė and college director Viktorija Palubinskienė on the important date in the history of the educational institution.

BS/2 has been cooperating with SMK for many years, actively participating in college events and providing students with internship opportunities in the company. This experience is of great value to the students. It allows them to practically apply their theoretical knowledge and acquire their first professional skills, which helps them to adapt more quickly to the real working environment.

During her speech, Aukse Glavinskienė noted that “the College is a forge of lighthouses for Lithuania and the whole world,” highlighting SMK’s unique role in shaping future generations. The institution plays a crucial part in preparing young leaders, with its teachers dedicating their efforts to cultivating individuals capable of driving innovation and introducing fresh ideas into various spheres of life.

SMK is the largest private higher education institution in Lithuania, operating in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipeda. The college began its work in 1994 and actively develops educational programs in computer science, health care, business, art, law, and other areas. Professional training of students is based on the principles of practical orientation, which perfectly matches the BS/2 approach to learning. Students are given a real opportunity to start their careers in large companies, and employers are given a chance to find ambitious and talented young professionals ready to develop in their businesses.

In addition to SMK, BS/2 also actively cooperates with several other educational institutions, including Vilnius Coding School and Vilnius College of Technology and Design. For BS/2, such partnerships are an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of new generations of professionals. Statistics show that almost half of the students who have interned with the company have stayed to work there. In this way, BS/2 supports not only its growth but also the dynamic improvement of the high-tech sector.
