On October 5, 2023, Baku hosted Retail Business Brunch, organized by the BS/2 company. This event provided a unique opportunity to connect with key players in the retail industry and engage in discussions about the current trends and challenges in the Caucasus region’s retail sector.

During the event, prominent manufacturers of retail equipment, including DATALOGIC, Diebold Nixdorf, Bizerba, SOTI, and Modern Expo, presented new opportunities for the retail business and showcased their solutions.

One of the central topics of the event was the integration of self-checkout systems into the retail environment. Self-service checkouts not only scan goods and process payments without the need for a cashier but also utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize products and help prevent theft.

Self-service checkouts, along with handheld scanners, intelligent scales, parcel lockers, and more, are already helping retailers reduce staffing costs, optimize retail space, eliminate long customer queues, and are expected to gain more popularity in the future.
