Possibilities of cooperation with Giesecke & Devrient discussed
At the beginning of July of this year, representatives of the Lithuanian company Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) to Germany shared their experiences. They discussed cooperation plans with Giesecke & Devrient that has a long tradition of banking technology development.
During the visit, the Deputy Director Tomas Augucevičius, the Sales Department Director Paulius Bučelis, and the Head of Mobile Devices Software Development Department Konstantin Butrimovič of BS/2 met with Giesecke & Devrient Banking Sector’s Sales Director Volker Dinges, the Senior Sales Manager Central, Eastern, and Northern Europe Angelika Semen, and other specialists. In the Munich headquarters, the manufacturers presented their latest products, mobile banking solutions, and integration.
“We were allowed to see the new and innovative business solutions offered by Giesecke & Devrient and are very interested in relevant innovations related to payment cards and mobile payments. During the meetings, we also discussed topical issues, shared experiences, and discussed possible projects”, said Mr. Augucevičius.
Giesecke & Devrient has been active worldwide for more than 160 years. Currently, the company employs 11 thousand specialists. The company’s first activities included printing paper banknotes and supplying secure paper and banknote processing machines. Actually, the company printed Lithuanian litas more than once. Lately, Giesecke & Devrient has emphasized the specific protection measures, which it implements in personal identification systems, SmartCard cards, electronic and mobile payment systems.
