Penki Kontinentai Group Receives Recognition from Major Lithuanian NGO
This year the Lithuanian Community of Care for People with Intellectual Disabilities “Viltis” celebrates its 35th anniversary. In honor of this date, a festive conference was held at the Palace of the Grand Dukes in Vilnius. The event was attended by representatives of state institutions, social workers, partners, and friends of the community.
Special attention was paid to the founder and long-time leader of the community, Dana Migaljova. President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda presented her with the medal of the Order of Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania for her services to the country. In his speech, the President noted:
It is impressive that your community realized so early that the united efforts of like-minded people are a powerful force capable of changing people’s destinies. Having joined the struggle for the right of your children to a decent life and full participation in society on the eve of independence, you have not given up until now.
Minister of Social Protection and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania Justyna Jakštienė, Trakai District Mayor Andrius Šatevičius , Director of the Agency for the Protection of the Rights of People with Disabilities Eglė Čaplikienė, President of the Lithuanian Association of Social Workers Jūratė Tamašauskienė, and others also came to congratulate the community.
Among the guests were representatives of Penki Kontinentai Group, which has been actively cooperating with “Viltis” for more than 15 years. BS/2 Chief Operating Officer Aukse Glavinskienė congratulated the conference participants on behalf of the company, presenting a symbolic statuette and a bouquet:
We are honored to be friends of the “Viltis” community. We see their great desire to help others and to create better conditions for people with special needs. We can learn from the members of community their perseverance and patience, which is necessary for everyone who strives hard to achieve their goals.”
Long-Term Partnership and Support
Penki Kontinentai Group actively supports “Viltis” by providing financial assistance. In addition, the company annually participates in the Friendship and Neighbourhood Festival, which is organized by the community and invites the mobile vehicle Kavos Galia (“The Power of Coffee”) to the events. This social project gives young people with disabilities the opportunity to try their hand as baristas, thus promoting their integration into society.
BS/2, a member of Penki Kontinentai Group, is proud to be part of a noble cause. The company is ready to continue supporting “Viltis” in its journey towards a more inclusive society.
